4 simple steps

How to Get
Started with
Lean-On

Taking out infrastructure complexity

Lean-On helps you get started:

  • A virtual desktop service should be as easy as turning on the power.
  • The service is based on a fixed monthly fee per user – no surprising consumption costs.
  • A Lean-On DaaS agreement is typically 48 months.
  • Advanced cloud services provide the daily operational excellence delivering a unique user experience 24/7/365.

Below are the 4 steps we go through in our standardized migration process.

1. Cloud assessment

To deliver the best possible user experience for your business, we begin by understanding your core values and requirements. In an initial meeting, we align your business needs and objectives, creating a clear foundation for the solution ahead. From there, we match the cloud service to a DaaS setup that meets your specific requirements.

This process involves building a checklist to identify, explore, and map out the exact business values and compliance needs that must be addressed. Based on these insights, a DaaS platform can begin to take shape in collaboration with us with your specific application portfolio and security requirements.

To help you visualize the potential, we establish a demo environment based on these initial findings—giving you a hands-on impression of how the Lean-On DaaS platform can benefit your business.

2. Test of applications: Right-sizing the desktop

In the next phase, we focus on bridging the gap between your current infrastructure and the high-performance DaaS cloud environment — specifically to your organization’s needs and guided by a business-value mindset.

We begin by analyzing your application portfolio and identifying distinct user groups. Each group is assessed based on its actual workload requirements—CPU, memory, storage, and GPU—ensuring that desktop resources are allocated efficiently and cost-effectively. This desktop segmentation allows us to deliver the best possible performance and user experience across all applications and user groups.

At this stage, we also review your security requirements to ensure full alignment with compliance and governance standards.

Once we have a clear overview of the required resources and configurations, everything is documented in a formal agreement, setting the foundation for a smooth and successful deployment.

3. POC and customer success evaluation

Following the agreement, everything is detailed in a project plan focusing on meeting milestones, and allocating the right resources at the right time for your Proof of Concept in Lean-On's platform.

The POC is designed to validate that Lean-On’s high-performance DaaS platform meets your specific business, technical, and user experience requirements. It’s a low-risk, high-impact way to:

  • Test your applications in the virtual environment
  • Right-size the virtual desktop configurations
  • Evaluate performance, security, and usability
  • Align expectations across IT, compliance, and end users

This phase typically involves a small group of test users and is tailored to actual workloads—whether they’re graphics-intensive, compute-heavy, or light administrative tasks.

We conduct a structured evaluation to ensure:

  • The desktop experience meets or exceeds expectations
  • All critical applications run smoothly and securely
  • Compliance and governance requirements are addressed
  • Feedback from test users is captured and acted upon

This evaluation is not just technical—it is strategic. We assess how well the solution supports your business goals, user productivity, and IT efficiency.

4. Cloud transition and transformation

Once the evaluation is successful, we move forward with:

  • Transitioning the test users into the production environment
  • Scaling the solution to the rest of your organization
  • Finalizing the project plan and timeline for full rollout

This phased approach ensures a smooth, confident transition—minimizing disruption and maximizing value from day one.

With established and automated workflows—powered by our proprietary orchestration technologies—the migration process is fast, seamless, and designed to avoid downtime. Users are quickly transitioned to the cloud and can begin working productively immediately.

We follow a standardized transformation procedure built on automation, best practices, and proven cloud service workflows. This ensures consistency, efficiency, and scalability throughout the process.

These are the ideal conditions for realizing the financial benefits and business value outlined in earlier phases—such as increased agility, reduced operational overhead, and enhanced innovation capacity. The result is a high-performing, secure, and agile digital workspace for your employees.
